Over the years, Bansko gradually established itself as one of the leading winter ski resorts in the country and the region, which attracts many Bulgarian and foreign tourists. The total length of the ski tracks is 75 km of which the greatest challenge for the skiers being the track Tomba, named after the Italian skier Alberto Tomba. Bansko falls into the territory of the National Park Pirin, which makes it an appropriate place for winter, as well as summer tourism. Since 1983 the park has been listed in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The contemporary town of Bansko is a unique mixture of old traditions and modern style, where new hotels are separated from more than 100 years old ethnographic houses by just a tiny, stone-paved streets. Over 130 architectural and historical monuments are registered, seven of which are of national significance. Most of the attractions in Bansko are situated next to each other, which makes it easier for the tourists to visit as many as possible while enjoying the city.
